About Malcolm Pearson
Malcolm Pearson is the founder and CEO of Carroll Hardwood.
Malcolm was raised in Tennessee by parents who were from Alabama and Arkansas. His southern roots go way back. His maternal grandfather and his father were both sawmill owners. So he grew up with sawdust in his veins and a love of the forest that has been a continuing thread in his life.
Malcolm has a BA in Philosophy from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. But the idea of Carroll Hardwood grew from his Wood Identification class when he was at Auburn Forestry School in Auburn, Alabama. There he encountered the beauty of the woods he had known all his life in a fresh way. He decided that he would eventually build a business making products for those woods so that people could experience every day in their homes the authenticity of real wood that can't be reproduced in an imitation product.
And that is what he has done for the last 34 years here in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
