About Us

The idea of Carroll Hardwood began in the fall of 1981 at Auburn Forestry School, when a young graduate student was moved during a wood ID class by the beauty of many then commercially unavailable woods from the eastern hardwood forest.  Nine years later he and his family built a plant in Carroll County, Tennessee, designed to make a range of Appalachian hardwoods into flooring, moulding, paneling, and stair parts for custom homes and distinguished public spaces.

Now, thirty-four years later a cadre of skilled and experienced woodworkers continues to produce those products from the original plant facility in Huntingdon, Tennessee.  From this location we sell, manufacture, and ship hardwood products throughout the United States to distributors, installers, builders, and homeowners involved in the creation of custom homes and commercial spaces.  Whether it is Heart Pecan for Charles Schwab or Rift and Quartered Walnut for the University of Oregon football offices, we consult with our customers to match their imagination for interior spaces with the possibilities offered by a deep knowledge of American hardwoods.
